AC/DC Premium is a rock and roll themed pinball machine that stands as one of Stern's most successful and celebrated modern releases. Designed by Steve Ritchie, the game pays homage to one of rock's most iconic bands while delivering an intense pinball experience that matches the energy of AC/DC's music.

The machine features 12 classic AC/DC songs including 'Back in Black,' 'Highway to Hell,' and 'Thunderstruck,' each integrated into specific gameplay modes. The playfield design incorporates numerous AC/DC themed elements including a mechanized TNT plunger, a Hell's Bell toy that rings during gameplay, and an animated cannon that fires on command. The game's centerpiece is a sculpted Angus Young figure that rocks back and forth during play.

Gameplay innovations include multiple multiball modes, a 'Fire!' sequence triggered by shooting all standup targets, and an intricate scoring system that rewards precision shooting and combo shots. The Premium edition features additional mechanical elements including a swinging bell and an elevated playfield section called 'Thunder Road.'
