Beat Time was a musically-themed electro-mechanical pinball machine released by Williams in 1967, capitalizing on the explosive popularity of rock and roll music during the era. The machine's artwork and theme clearly drew inspiration from the British Invasion and the emerging psychedelic music scene, particularly reflecting the aesthetic of bands like The Beatles and the mod culture of the mid-1960s.

The playfield design featured musical notes, instruments, and pop art styling typical of the period. As an electro-mechanical machine, it utilized chimes and bells to create simple musical effects when targets were hit, creating an appropriately melodic atmosphere during gameplay.
