Support Our WorkGottlieb Mustang (1977) is a solid-state pinball machine with classic late-’70s styling and gameplay. Despite sharing a name with the famous car, the theme focuses more broadly on speed and sport rather than directly referencing the Ford Mustang.
It features 4 flippers, 3 pop bumpers, rollover lanes, and a series of bonus targets and lanes that build up the player’s score. The layout encourages fast ball movement and strategic shot placement, with bonus multipliers and a challenging upper playfield section.
Designed by Ed Krynski with art by Gordon Morison, Mustang blends Gottlieb’s signature playfield symmetry with the emerging sound and light effects of the solid-state era. Though not as well known as some of its contemporaries, it remains a distinct example of Gottlieb's transition into modern pinball.
